The Path Made Clear: ’Discovering Your Life’s Direction And Purpose’
By Oprah Winfrey

The Path Made Clear is not quite a book you would sit and read in a single sitting, nor is it a holiday read, but more a coffee table book to pick up and browse through when your brain needs a break. It’s crammed full of inspirational quotes and phrases and, packed with mind-soothing images of snow-capped mountains and dreamy clouds, is a thing of great beauty.

In this book Oprah shares her guide for activating your deepest vision of yourself. It tackles all the important milestones along the road to self-discovery and what we can learn from them. Many of the quotes are from Oprah herself, including some gems from her own interviews. And there are tons of quotes and longer passages collected from other A-list names, like Jay Z and Gloria Steinhem. The passages are a bit twee, not exactly hard hitting, yet truthful.

Each section of the book has a theme to take you on a specific life journey, and it feels very ‘mindful’ throughout as it is full of content leading to ‘aha’ moments. The imagery is focused on nature so this book feels like it’s imploring you to look into your soul and find your awakening and sense of purpose. Even the paper it’s printed on feels very natural, which seems fitting.

The book is simply structured and you can flick through it and just find a spot to read rather than feel you need to get your head round the whole thing. For me it’s a little too spiritual in parts but overall it’s a lovely book to have lying around, feels delicious to the touch and is packed full of motivation and energy driving content. As Oprah says ‘I have a lot of things to prove to myself. One is that I can live my life fearlessly.’ This feels very Audrey and audacious, so it’s a big thumbs up from me if you need a little gentle encouragement.
