If you’re finding it a struggle to make your ambitions happen – or even to decide what would truly make you happy – our quiz will help you work out what steps you need to take right now.</p> <p><strong></strong></p> </section> <section> <h2> <h2>Your Mindset</h2> </h2> <p> </p> <p>You’re a bit of a dreamer, often letting your mind stray to thoughts of a better, more exciting life or career in which you feel way more fulfilled, but always talking yourself out of doing anything about it.</p> <p> </p> <p>Confidence may well be an issue, which is why you tend to look at women who’ve done something daring and think ‘brilliant – but not for me’. Well why on earth not? Change doesn’t have to be huge, nor does it need to be all or nothing.</p> <p> </p> <p>Just experimenting with other ideas <a href="https://www.audreyonline.co.uk/rushing-by/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">will build your confidence</a>. It’s a cliche but you need to step out of your comfort zone and take one teeny step in a different direction. <a href="https://www.audreyonline.co.uk/learning-skills/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Learning something new</a> and adding to your skillset can be a huge confidence booster, as can <a href="https://www.audreyonline.co.uk/transferable-skills/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">identifying your transferable skills</a> so you have more of a sense of your own potential.</p> <p> </p> <p>There are also loads of great resources in the MINDSET section of the Audrey Members’ Club (launching very soon!), as well as Audrey Circles – facilitated peer-to-peer support to help you kickstart your ambitions. Thoughts of doing something different are quickly rejected every time you try to make a plan and move forwards, because you feel like your feet have been glued to the floor. Sound familiar?</p> <p>But if you’re feeling really unhappy about your life then something has to change. Especially if you’re ‘self-medicating’ with too much booze, boxsets or mindless browsing on social media, often a sign that we’re deeply unhappy and ‘hiding’ from our true feelings.</p> <p>First <a href="https://www.audreyonline.co.uk/how-will-you-pay-the-mortgage/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">take look at your finances</a> and allow yourself to think about <a href="https://www.audreyonline.co.uk/reimagining-a-future-for-yourself/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">what you’d really like to do</a>. Then have a strong word with yourself and draw up a long-term plan for making it happen.</p> <p> </p> <p>Or at least shake things up a little. Your family and friends may not always understand the challenges you face. The guts and courage to do something off your own bat are not lacking in your world. But making an income from it is not going well – in fact it sometimes feels like trying to nail jelly to a wall.</p> <p> </p> <p>Maybe you’ve targeted the wrong market. Maybe your business doesn’t really fit with your values, so you’re struggling to keep up the enthusiasm. Maybe you haven’t managed to differentiate yourself sufficiently from whatever else is out there. The world is full of entrepreneurial people having a go at launching something, hitting a wall, having a rethink and then having a much much better go and finding success.
